Notes and Restrictions
  • Juniors born 2007 or earlier are restricted to 5.0 event only.
  • Juniors born after 2007 are restricted from entering.
  • All participants (or legal guardians in the case of juniors) will be required to sign a release from liability as part of the registration process.
  • Due to Phase 2 COVID-19 Guidelines, participants must reside in the Edmonton Metro Region.

Prize Pool for Each Category:

  • 4-8 entries: $50 for the winner, $25 for the finalist
  • 9-16 entries: $100 for the winner, $50 for the finalist
  • 17-32 entries: $200 for the winner, $100 for the finalist, $50 for semi-finalists
  • 33+ entries: $300 for the winner, $150 for the finalist, $75 for semi-finalists

Tournament Swag: All participants will receive a player’s package which will include a tournament shirt. 

Try Tennis - Free Event for Kids

For players who have never played tennis, this is a great opportunity to try the sport. Players can experience tennis in a fun and safe environment. They will be one on one with a certified coach, separated from all other kids for social distancing procedures.

Wimbledon at Garneau 2020


We will be hosting our first socially distant tournament. NOTE – Tournament is restricted to current Full Time, Family, or Junior Tennis Members.

Format: Tournament Draws will be generated, and each week it will be both players’ responsibility to arrange a match against their opponent and record the score. All matches must be played before Sunday at midnight of that week. The following Monday, the next round will be posted and the process repeated. Each player is guaranteed a minimum of 3 matches.


  • Mens 2.0 – 4.0
  • Mens 4.0+
  • Ladies 2.0 – 3.5
  • Ladies 3.5+

Entry Deadline: Sunday June 14

Cost: $5 for prizes

Scoring: Players will play a pro-set to 8 games, with regular scoring. In the event that the score becomes tied 7-7, a seven-point tiebreak will be played to decide the winner.

Tournament Swag: Players will be able to order tournament apparel at an additional cost.

Spring Cleanup – Completed

Thank you to all the volunteers who came out to help get our courts cleaned up early this year!

Takes place in late April or as soon as the weather allows. This is the first volunteer opportunity of the season. Putting up nets, raking leaves and nailing the lines are just a few of the tasks that need to be completed. Lunch is provided.

Open House

To kick off the season, Garneau Tennis and Beach Volleyball hosts an Open House beginning at 11:00 am until 3:00 pm in celebration of Tennis Day in Canada! There will be various activities and events taking place throughout the day, all of which will be free of charge. Events include, but are not limited to: BBQ, refreshments, racquet demos, cardio tennis and various rally games. 

Please note: This event is open to all ages and skill levels for both members and non-members alike. All those in attendance will have access to the courts free of charge and we encourage non-members to come out and get a feel for the courts, meet the pros and staff, and become familiarized with our membership packages. Early bird rates end May 13!

Monday Night Clinic:

Skills and drills clinic hosted by one of our Tennis Pros, available to full-time members.

2 Time slots: 6-7 pm and 7-8 pm 

Friday Night Social:

Most Friday’s from 6:00 pm – 8:00 pm full-time members of tennis and volleyball are invited to participate in social games and drinks. This is a great way to meet other people with similar interests!

Garneau Davis Cup

Davis Cup is an annual Canada day, fun tournament. It is a social event that members sign up individually and are placed on a team. This is done to ensure that the teams are evenly matched. The event also has a potluck where team where team captains will work with their teams to bring food items, preferably from the representing country, but anything is ok!
The cost is $10 to enter and tennis balls are provided.

Breakfast at Wimbledon

Breakfast at Wimbledon is a social event that combines social games with a pancake breakfast. This event is free to members and features a variety of breakfast food such as pancakes, bacon and strawberries. When members aren’t enjoying the pancakes, they can take part in social games that are set up by our staff members. The games have the same format as the Friday night social and give everyone an opportunity to play.

The event runs on a Sunday morning from 11:00 AM – 1:00 PM and is free for members.


Tennis Edmonton Meetup Tournament

Tennis Edmonton is organizing a meetup tournament  from 10am-5pm at the club, this will include food and fun! Garneau members (except daytime and weekday) pay only $5 to enter. Follow the appropriate link below to register and then e-transfer the appropriate amount to Tennis Edmonton.

End of Season Party

To celebrate the end of a great, albeit wet, season we wanted to have a party! Entrance is free for members and there will be lunch for sale prepared by Chef Brandon. This event will be licensed.

The Annual General Meeting will be held on Thursday October 10 in the private room of Boston Pizza Whyte Ave. Food and drinks will be provided. Please let us know if you will be attending, if not, please arrange with a trusted member and submit your proxy vote. This is important and appreciated!
